District Attorney Susan D. Reed today announced that MARCI BENNETT, age 39, was indicted and the indictment returned to this afternoon for the felony offense of theft. Bennett was arrested this morning on separate charges relating to the false accusations made against Assistant Chief Jerry Pittman of the San Antonio Police Department. The indictment alleges that Bennett, while employed by a local hotel, used her position to fraudulently transfer money to her personal account. The indictment alleges she wrongfully appropriated approximately $10,500. The offense is a State Jail Felony punishable by up to two years in a state jail facility and a fine of up to $10,000.
